ICA Wedding Photographer – London wedding venue

Any wedding at The ICA on the Mall is going to be a high point in my year, but to shoot it with such a lovely couple as Caroline & Sandy really makes for a great day for me as an ICA wedding photographer. The white walls in the galleries makes for lovely soft light bouncing around, giving me a mix of directional light from the windows, but also great fill light from the walls softening the shadows & creating beautiful highlights. I’m lucky enough to be recommended by the ICA, which as a wedding photographer means I get to shoot at one of the best venues London has to offer. It’s location on Carlton House Terrace & The Mall also makes it easy to get to great locations for shots of not only Caroline & Sandy, but also groups on Waterloo Steps. I’ve also got to mention the team at The ICA too, no venue is worth getting married at or shooting wedding photography at without an excellent team behind the scenes & Harriet & the rest of the team certainly qualify as that.

I started the day with Caroline in their very new house. I think they only moved in shortly before the wedding! The house was full of bridesmaids as well as Caroline’s mum & her brother who was to walk Caroline down the aisle. I got shots of them all getting ready as well as sharing a few emotional moments & lots of laughs.

I then drove up to The ICA in time to get shots of Sandy & the groomsmen getting themselves sorted. Sandy’s brothers were all there too, making life just that little bit more difficult for him in the way only siblings can! Caroline turned up quite early & had to wait outside in the London cab she’d arrived in. I’m sure Sandy would have been happy for her to come in early as he was clearly couldn’t wait for her to walk down the aisle towards him.

The day continued in the same way, with lots of emotional moments, lots of laughter, particularly during the speeches, & then with a ceilidh at the end for all Sandy’s relatives to step up & show everyone else how to do it!

Nick Di Gregorio provided the music during the ceremony & the drinks reception while the Absolute Band played in the evening.
