Here are some Queen’s House weddings I’ve shot:
The Queen’s House, designed and built by Inigo Jones in the 17th Century is a wonderful building incorporating not just the house itself but also the orangery, the galleries, and of course the colonnades running away from both sides of the building. For a Queen’s House wedding photographer it is a great place to shoot. There is an enormous amount of natural light coming in all around the building through the front windows to fill the main hall and in the orangery at the rear. The white walls bounce all this light around so I get wonderful soft light giving great skin tones. The covered colonnades mean I can shoot outside even if it’s raining, while the tulip staircase gives me great perspective as I shoot upwards with the spiral running into the distant window at the top. Weddings at the Queen’s House are always a spectacular event, the sheer scale of the House partnered with the amazing art on the walls, as well as all the rooms and balconies, meaning I’m spoilt for choice when choosing where to shoot.
