Here’s a wedding I shot at Slaugham Place:
A bit about Slaugham Place
Just south of London, this lovely Sussex wedding venue is surrounded by some of West Sussex’s most beautiful countryside. Slaugham Place weddings have moated ruins which can be used for some great wedding photography, as well as huge grounds that mean your guests can relax & wander around without losing site of the rest of the wedding itself. The great thing as a Sussex wedding photographer is being able to wander around capturing loads of little groups all doing something different and with an individual background. Within the ruins, guests might find themselves with a bit of private space for a few minutes as they wander through from one part of the grounds to another. The arches in the main “square” provide an excellent backdrop for group shots with the open area around acting as a massive soft box giving great soft light and lovely skin tones.
The marquee stands at one end of the main field and so is bathed in light, unobscured by trees or houses, once again meaning the light inside is soft and bright. Guests laughing & chatting, or listening to speeches can all be captured easily because of this great level of light. The weddings I’ve shot at Slaugham Place have all been lovely, and a pleasure to shoot.
