Ravenswood wedding – Sussex Wedding Photographer
It was lovely to meet Kara & Keith for a pre wedding photo shoot a couple of weeks before their Ravenswood wedding, in the beautiful Sussex countryside in Petworth Park. We had a great time doing the shoot and then went on to St Andrew’s Church in Burgess Hill to have a look around the church they would be married in two weeks later. A huge church, St Andrew’s would have been a challenge to shoot in if it weren’t for the wonderful light pouring in all down one side, giving a fantastic airy feel. On their lovely sunny wedding day, the light in the church couldn’t have been better, though Kara did have a long walk from the entrance to standing next to Keith! I had lots of time before the ceremony to photograph Keith and guests arriving as well as the bridesmaids once they pulled up in the vintage wedding car.
The Ravenswood looked beautiful, as ever, particularly on this sunny day. As a Sussex Wedding Photographer I get to shoot in lots of lovely venues, but the best ones have great light and the Ravenswood has loads of directional light coming into the Princess Beatrice Suite. I was able to take Kara & Keith off for some shots of just the two of them in the fabulous gardens. Having done a pre wedding shoot with them only two weeks before, Kara & Keith relaxed into the shoot as if I wasn’t there, which meant I was able to get loads of beautiful shots of them. I say on the home page of my site that I think people look their best when they don’t know they’re being photographed, and although they are aware I was there, Kara & Keith were so relaxed & so natural together that it was almost as if I wasn’t and the photographs reflect that.
Thanks once again to Peta & Annie at The Ravenswood for looking after me & making sure I was able to get all the photographs I needed. I also need to thank Martyn, Keith’s best man for all the help he gave me throughout the day, but particularly during the group shots.
