Farnham Castle wedding photographer
What a beautiful day and a wonderful winter wedding! I’d been looking forward to Grace and Malcolm’s wedding all year, knowing it was going to be a great day. Grace and Malcolm are one of those couples that give off so much energy together, I knew they would be great fun to photograph and I was right!
Bridal Preps
Taking place in mid December at the fabulous Farnham Castle, we had low warm light with clear blue skies, at least to start with! Before I went into the Gatehouse to photograph Grace, her mum and her bridesmaids getting ready, I popped into the Castle and found the fantastic Eden Blooms working their magic with the flowers. Leaving the castle I bumped into Grace and Susie (chief bridesmaid and best friend!) coming the other way! After a quick inspection we headed back to the Gatehouse where I photographed them getting ready. With Grace and her bridesmaids all smiles it really was easy photographing them as they had hair and makeup done by Lucinda McClements.
Groomsmen in the Pub
Next stop was Malcolm with his groomsmen and Lance Guards at Bel and the Dragon in Churt. It was good to meet George, Grace’s brother and one of Malcolm’s groomsmen, at this point as well as all the Lance Guards I’d be coordinating closely with during the day. They all headed out as I left, to go to the church in time for guests to arrive.
Beautiful Light at the Church
The light at the church was wonderful, gorgeous low warm sunshine flooding the outside of the church and pouring in through the church door as guests bustled in with hugs and kisses for Malcolm as he greeted them. When Grace arrived and walked up the path to the church, the sun made her glow as it shone through her veil. She looked beautiful.
Farnham Castle Wedding Photography
After confetti outside the church we headed back to Farnham Castle for the reception. With group shots and a lovely shoot with just Grace and Malcolm covered, we headed inside. The clouds came in and we even had a bit of rain, but nobody inside cared, we’d had the best of the day and the reception and the meal continued with all the fun that went with it.
Grace and Malcolm’s wedding was one of those days where the shots came easily and the day flowed effortlessly. I know it will have been Grace’s organisation and of course the brilliant team at Farnham Castle led by Heather that made it this way. However the groomsmen and bridesmaids also played a part and I have to thank Susie and George in particular, but also James and the rest of the wedding party for helping me keep all the photography on track!
Great venue to work at.
