‘The more you plan, the luckier you get’, this just about says it all for me – if we spend some time planning the photography for your day, then even when things change (as they inevitably will!) we’ll be ready for it. I like to have a backup plan, particularly for things like group shots, just in case it’s raining or there’s another reason to change our plans at the last moment…. I always say as long as you have a backup plan, you won’t need it!
Decide what is important to you, and talk to me about your ideas in the run up to your wedding. Working together to discuss the timetable for your day will help ensure you get what you want and that the whole process is as stress free as it can be.
Where possible I will always visit the wedding venues, ideally with you, to do a proper recce and give us a great chance to talk about the best location for photographs of the two of you, the group shots and any other details or plans I need to know about in advance. It’s also a good opportunity to highlight any likely issues that could need overcoming. Planning thoroughly prevents any nasty surprises on the day, and gives you the confidence that I am covering your wedding photography effectively & beautifully
You will probably be looking for reportage/documentary coverage, with a mixture of beautiful shots of the two of you, some formal group shots and an informal record of the day, from getting ready to late night dancing. I can be there for as much of your wedding day as you would like, depending on what you need.
It’s all in the timing…..being realistic about the amount of time needed for the group shots for example will lead to a stress free day. I can advise you on the time needed, and go through the timings from your whole day to make sure they fit in at the best possible time.
My documentary style means I’ll be working unobtrusively, capturing the emotion and events as they unfold and not directing events (apart from any formal group shots, when I will need to control things!).
After your wedding I will upload your password protected wedding gallery within approximately 2 – 3 weeks of your wedding day. I can also provide individually re-touched, high res images on a USB for you. Typically this will have 350-400 pictures from your day, though it’s often more.
It’s my job to guide you through planning your wedding photography, helping put you at ease and alleviate any concerns you may have about your photography. It’s your big day and I want to work with you to get the best wedding photography possible.
Please contact me and I’ll talk you through any queries you have. I’m very aware that you’ll want to understand how it all works, and how to get the best out of your wedding photography.
Cheers – Neil
