Slaugham Place Wedding | Sonya & Andrew
Warenne Barn was a great place to start Sonya’s wedding day. Bright and airy, I was able to use the wonderful soft light to capture all her wedding day preps. Not only were there loads of windows, letting in all the light I could possibly need, but with the walls painted white, the light was bounced around softening and filling beautifully. It was like having a great soft box behind me all the time. As a Sussex wedding photographer, I’m used to dealing with lots of very difficult lighting situations, from dark barns & churches to fluorescent filled register offices. So to start with such beautiful light was wonderful.
St Paul’s Church was our next stop and once again we had wonderful light. Sonya turned up in a classic car, while her bridesmaids travelled in a restored VW Camper. The pastel bridesmaid dresses made for great shots before we went in.
Slaugham Place, as ever, made a great setting for the drinks reception, with guests able to wander the grounds. I took Sonya & Andrew off for some photos of just the two of them in amongst the ruins, before returning to do some group shots with family & friends.
The marquee, once again gave me lovely light to work with, for the meal & speeches. In particular I have to commend Sonya’s father for his speech, although Andrew ran him a close second!
