With very mixed weather the week before Sarah & Chris’s wedding, everything was crossed hoping it would be sunny. The terrace at Pembroke Lodge is a wonderful place to have a reception, but only if it isn’t bucketing with rain! The views over Richmond Park are wonderful and the light in the Belvedere is gorgeous with a drop of sun. So I’m sure it was with a great sigh of relief on Sarah’s part that Saturday turned out to be lovely. Some thundery looking clouds only added to the lovely light and it didn’t rain at all.
Starting at Sarah & Chris’s flat with all the bridesmaids, I then headed over to Pembroke Lodge to catch some shots of Chris before Sarah followed for the ceremony. I had an unusual situation of finding not one but two Chris’s at Pembroke Lodge…or so I thought. What I didn’t realise was that Chris had a twin brother, not something I had ever thought to ask when I meet up with couples a month before their wedding to go through timings & arrangements for their day! Luckily I realised pretty quickly that Chris, appearing seemingly by magic, in different parts of the Lodge, actually had his almost identical twin brother as his best man.
I have to thank the two registrars who presided over Sarah & Chris’s ceremony for being possibly the most gracious of a long line of registrars I’ve met, and most have been absolutely lovely. The ceremony over, we all headed out onto the terrace and into the sunshine. We had time to head out in the Rolls Royce for a short ride around the park before getting some beautiful shots of Sarah & Chris outside the Lodge.
The speeches gave me some great shots as there was a lot of laughter, and then we had a chance to pop out to get some photos of Sarah & Chris with the sun going down over Chris’s beloved Twickenham Stadium!
I’ve always enjoyed photographing dancing and Sarah & Chris’s friends gave me lots to work with!
I must thank both Tom & Amy for their help during the day & also Adrian who was running the show for Pembroke Lodge, for looking after me extremely well, much appreciated.
This wedding was shot at a wonderful Richmond Park wedding venue
