Hi, I hope you’re enjoying looking through my photos. It’s a huge pleasure knowing my images will give couples wonderful memories for years to come. I want you to love your wedding photographs as much as I love taking them.
Most people hate being photographed – I aim to make it fun and relaxed for you, and only photos where you are looking your best will make the final cut. From booking right up to the day itself I’m there to guide you through all the wedding photography planning by advising you, supporting you and being organised and professional. I want you to get everything you want out of your wedding photos.
On your day you can be confident that the photography is being taken care of and that I’m capturing the beautiful and natural wedding photography we planned together.
My natural, documentary style means that most of the time you won’t even be aware of me. I’m there to shoot the most intimate, emotional and funny moments from your wedding, as well as document the day. Apart from some beautiful shots of the two of you and some formal group shots, I strongly believe the best way to do that is to work in the background so that people don’t know they are being photographed.
I won’t direct your day, I’ll create beautiful images that capture it.
Planning your wedding photography is crucial. I see it as part of my job to guide you through what can be a stressful process – I’ve done this hundreds of times but for you it’s probably the first. Discussing what you want in advance – timings, locations for photographs on the day, a back up weather plan etc, will all help ensure your day runs smoothly.
I wanted to be a photographer when I was fourteen, so after doing my degree in Economics (where I met my wife Sarah) I moved to London to start my apprenticeship working with advertising photographers shooting fashion, corporate, interiors, cars and several other disciplines. This gave me a great all round feel for photography and in particular light, which I’ve brought to shooting weddings. I’ve shot all over the world, in particular in South America and Asia as well as extensively in North Africa. I’ve worked in jungles and deserts as well as cities all over the world.
I started photographing weddings after shooting one for a relative. It’s rare to find a point in your life where you know in a split second that your life is going to change. I had one such moment at that wedding, after that day I knew shooting weddings was what I wanted to do and that’s what I’ve been doing for the last nine years.
If you book me to capture your wedding, then along the way you will no doubt get to meet Sarah who is my studio manager and wife, though not in that order! We met at university and have been married for over twenty years now. We have two children, Hannah and Ben. Sarah had a career as a media consultant for many years before we had children and now runs the studio, keeping everything ticking over beautifully, particularly as I spend a lot of time out at shoots and meetings.
If you have any questions, or to book me, please get in touch using the Contact form, by email or call on 07836 718 719. I’m very happy to have a chat without you having any obligation to choose me to shoot your big day.
If you’d like to see some more of my work then my blog is a good place to go.
